Presidents Message

I am very much looking forward to our November Meeting when we can again meet in person at GMHBA Stadium.

This month we will hear about one of Geelong’s most recognisable entertainment venues – The Palais Theatre Geelong, and its multi-million-dollar redevelopment.
General Manager and one of Australia’s leading theatre practitioners, Robert Cuddon, and Palais Owner Frank Tripolino will be joining us to take us on a journey of the Palais past, present, and future, and provide us an insight into what this highly anticipated project will mean for the Geelong arts scene.

As is standard practice at the moment, Higher Mark has advised that only fully vaccinated individuals can attend their stadium so please ensure you bring along proof of double vaccination as a Covid Marshall will be checking certificates on arrival.

Just prior to this month’s dinner, we have called a Special General Meeting to vote on the proposed amendments to Geelong Business Club (“GBC”) Inc Rules which can be found

Thank you to everyone who completed the recent Member survey.  We had a 75% response rate, with the significant majority voting to continue our dinners at GMHBA Stadium.  The Club will continue to provide a substantial subsidy to our dinner meetings, but members will incur a $10 price rise in their dinner ticket price when we return in February next year.

And finally, it is with great excitement that I announce our plans for our 60th Birthday Gala Celebration on Monday 13th December 2021. We will enjoy dinner at Truffleduck Balmoral in Fyansford and an Intimate evening with one of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, Bobby Fox. Bobby is one of Australia’s leading musical theatre performers and is best known for his lead role in The Jersey Boys.

We are thrilled to bring this event to our members and friends, and family. Keep an eye out for information regarding this dinner as we want to ensure we cater for our members and their significant other/s before we open up more broadly to guests.

I am really looking to seeing you all at GMHBA stadium on the 8th of November.
