Club Policies
To ensure a safe and harmonious environment for all, and in order to ensure all members understand their conduct obligations, the following Club policies apply to all members (click on each policy to read):
Monthly Dinner Meetings
Geelong Business Club Monthly Dinner Meetings are for Club Members and their Guests who are welcome to attend up to TWO Dinner meetings per financial year, at a cost of $75 per head – the same subsidised amount charged to Members.
Each dinner meeting includes pre dinner drinks and networking, a gourmet two course dinner with matching wines, and a presentation by a guest speaker who is an expert/leader in their field, be it in business, government, sport or community.
Invitations to dinner meetings are extended to members via email, and via posts on the Club’s Facebook and LinkedIn accounts – with a link to register and pay online. Dinner fees are payable in advance, or on arrival at the event, by card, cash, or cheque payable to Geelong Business Club Inc. To avoid lengthy queues, it is strongly advised to pay online at the time of registering attendance.
NOT A CURRENT MEMBER AND WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND A DINNER MEETING?
If you would like to attend as a Visitor, but do not believe you are connected to a Club Member who can introduce you please email the Executive Officer: GBC@geelongbusinessclub.org.au
Please note, our Dinner Meetings are very popular, so we do limit the number of guest tickets, with priority given to guests registered by members. We will do our best to accommodate you, but appreciate your understanding that your request may be subject to a waiting list.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
If you register and you or your guest(s) are unable to attend the Dinner, you must let the Executive Officer know ASAP, to avoid incurring full catering costs.
When a member or guest registers for a dinner but then fails to attend without providing at least 24 hours notice*, the Club is unable to alter catering numbers with the provider, and is therefore charged the full $85 for that absent registrant. This is a cost that the Club cannot absorb, and must pass on to the relevant member or guest.
What does that mean for you?
If you prepaid online and failed to attend without adequate notice, the original $75 paid cannot be refunded and you will receive an invoice for a further $10.
If you registered to ‘pay at the door’ and failed to attend without adequate notice, you will be invoiced for $85.
To avoid either scenario, be sure to advise the Executive Officer at least 24 hours prior to the event if you will not be attending.
Covid Circumstances only
* We realise that Covid-19 and its associated close contact and isolation requirement has wreaked havoc on our day to day activity as we know it, and for this reason the Committee recently carried a circular motion, as follows –
COVID-19 Consideration- Should members test positive, or a household contact test positive, The Geelong Business Club will carry forward payment (or will not fine members if not paid) if notice is provided by 2pm on the day of the dinner. Any apologies after 2pm will not be refunded nor avoid a fine (if unpaid).
When it is no longer mandated that household contacts need to isolate, the Business Club will require the member or guest to supply their RAT or PCR test (picture of positive result or text/email from PCR) to be privy to these COVID special considerations.
Thank you for your support of Geelong Business Club.
