July 11th 2022 Dinner Meeting

FROM THE PRESIDENTS DESK ….

If you’re like me, with this being the end of one financial year and the beginning of another, you’ll be head down in your financials addressing the final incomings and outgoings for your company. Alternatively, you may have escaped our winter and be somewhere warm, nationally or even internationally as travel has well and truly opened up.

It’s great to see that business is returning to usual, and now we are a vaccinated nation, that COVID-19 no longer poses the significant threat it did in 2020 and 2021. We just need the supply chain to return to its pre-pandemic levels which will take time.

In the grip of winter, we welcome our July dinner meeting speaker, Frances Diver, CEO of Barwon Health.

There is plenty Frances will be able to share with us from the impact of COVID on the region’s health system to our near and present issue of ambulance ramping, and if this is a challenge we face.

She will also share with us her own leadership journey in which she was awarded Business Leader of the Year, last year in the Geelong Business Excellence Awards.

Register your attendance here.

Don’t forget, this dinner will be held in the President’s Room, rather than the Captain’s Room.

As we too close our financial year, I wanted to thank you for your continued support of The Geelong Business Club. We have had a wonderful year, where we celebrated our 60th with our memorable Gala celebration and heard from diverse speakers from business, sport, leadership, health services and the community.

Shortly we will issue  membership dues for the coming financial year and we look forward to your ongoing commitment to business and each other in the year ahead.

See you soon.
